Are Tortilla Chips Vegan: A Quick Guide – This guide will walk you through in detail whether tortilla chips are vegan.
Tortilla chips are a delicious snack, perfect for dipping in dips like sour cream, hummus, salsa…you name it! Being vegan makes you wonder whether you can still eat some of your favorite foods. In today’s case, can you eat tortilla chips as a vegan?
Are Tortilla Chips Vegan?
Technically, yes! Traditionally, tortillas are made from cornmeal, water, salt oil. These days though, most of them are made with all-purpose white flour. These are vegan-friendly ingredients. The tortillas are then sliced and baked until crisp (even fried in some cases) to create tortilla chips.
However, as with many things, people tend to change and tweak traditional recipes, by adding more ingredients to them and changing the recipe method. And for that reason, it’s quite important that you read the ingredients list of everything before you purchase it. You would be surprised by the number of products that have milk powder in them for no apparent reason.
What Tortilla Chips Are Vegan?
There are a couple of brands that are vegan, so next time you crave tortilla chips, grab some of these:
1. Mission Tortilla Chips are vegan
2. Tostitos Tortilla Chips are vegan
3. Late July Snacks Tortilla Chips are vegan
4. Garden of Eatin’ Corn Tortilla Chips are vegan
5. Siete Tortilla Chips are vegan
And the list goes on. Technically, a lot of the tortilla chips out there are vegan, by always checking the ingredients list anyway because I have personally seen brands that use dairy milk.
So this was my quick guide on Are Tortilla Chips Vegan: A Quick Guide – I hope you found it helpful and I am sure you are happy with the result. You can eat tortilla chips! Whoop! Whoop!
Just be careful when you buy them, just glance at the ingredients list at the back of the package to check if it has any non-vegan ingredients.
However, if you stick to the ones I listed above, you should be okay!
