This broccoli mash recipe is full of flavor, it has got cheesiness to it as well, tastes good, and serves a healthy, low carb side dish. It’s super easy and quick to make with minimal ingredients you can find in your kitchen at any time! I find this recipe makes a great side for your vegan Sunday roast dinner.
Why steamed broccoli?
I chose to steam broccoli crowns to preserve as many nutrients as possible. Steaming is considered the safest way to cook broccoli and manage to keep its dietary content. Steaming also takes less time, so I highly recommend steaming instead of boiling!
Tips on how to steam broccoli:
Start with hot boiling water. You need to boil your water in advance before steaming. Next thing you need a deep pot and a steamer basket. After you have washed and cut the broccoli crowns into half, place broccoli crowns in the steaming basket and place it on top of the pot. Coverup and steam for 10 minutes maximum. Check with a fork to see if the broccoli is soft and cooked.

Easy Healthy Broccoli Mash
- 1 large head of Broccoli steamed/boiled
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tbsp Nutritional yeast
- 3 tbsp Dairy-free milk
- 1 tsp cayenne or paprika
- 1 tsp Salt
- black pepper
- Mash the broccoli, then add all the rest of the ingredients. Mix well. Serve hot or cold.
