You can sprinkle this Easy Vegan Parmesan Cheese with abandon all over your favorite Italian recipes, salads, cooked vegetables and more! Use it as you would use with dairy parmesan (however, if you’re baking the recipe, you might want to reserve it for sprinkling until after it’s out of the oven for maximum flavor and presentation value).
Sprinkle it over roasted vegetables, like roasted broccoli or roasted cauliflower. You might also enjoy it over steamed or sautéed veggies. It’s super versatile, I also like to sprinkle it on top of my hot soup or Vegan Pizzas.
Take your vegan mac and cheese up a notch by topping it with a light sprinkle of Vegan Parmesan.
This recipe just proves that you can still enjoy all your favorite foods and tastes on a Vegan diet. Not to mention that this Vegan ‘Parmesan’ is a hundred times healthier than the traditional dairy one. Hemp Seeds are extremely beneficial to the body, not to mention that they pack a whopping 31g of protein per 100g!
The Nutritional Yeast flakes will help you get your vitamin B12.
Oh, and no animals were harmed or killed in the process, this recipe is a win-win!
40g of hemp seeds
35g of nutritional yeast
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon fine sea salt, to taste
1. Simply put all the ingredients together in a blender, and whizz for a few seconds, or until the hemp seeds are broken down. Taste, and add more salt for more intense flavor (I usually add another pinch or so). You’re done!
2. Store this Easy Vegan Parmesan Cheese in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 months.
Tip: If you are struggling to find Hemp Seeds or Nutritional Yeast, simply look in the health shops. Also, a lot of the big stores have them in stock, simply ask a member of staff!
