These include; vegetables, fruit, legumes, etc. Vegetables and fruit are relatively low on calories, so when you fill up your plate with veggies, you might think you are putting in a lot, but the truth is, the total calories aren’t as much as if you had filled your plate with potato fries, for example.

Now, that you’ve found how many calories your body needs per day, I would cut the calories down to roughly 200-300. I would never do it in an extreme way. It’s always so much better to lose weight slowly and steadily.

– Stock up on protein! Protein can keep you full for longer, for fewer calories. If you feel full, you are less likely to snack – which can lead to a calorie deficit.

– Avoid/limit Junk Food

– Get your ass moving! Burn some extra calories by moving. Even just going for a walk is effective. For a greater result – hit the gym.

-Drink water! Water fills up your stomach, which can curb hunger. Also, we all know how good water is for us, so it’s a double win!

– Meal prep! Cook, cook, cook! Plan ahead, count your calories, and stay disciplined.

I would be careful cutting foods out completely, as this can lead to binge eating on them later or worse – eating disorders. I tend to keep all these foods to a minimum when I am trying to lose weight.

  • High-calorie empty foods like cakes, brownies, and junk food. Now, I wouldn’t completely exclude these types of foods, but I will keep them to an absolute minimum. Have them on a Friday night as treat, not as an everyday thing.

  • Avoid Drinking Your Calories: Do you add loads of sugar to your coffee/tea? Do you like having smoothies? All these contain calories, and you can easily overdo the calories without even realizing it. Alcohol, soft drinks, all these have calories.
