Now I know you think that quinoa is only meant to be for savory dishes, but it’s all to do with our perception of things. Like if you think right now about having a savory oat porridge, you would be ‘ugh’ but seriously, give it a try with this incredibly easy and tasty healthy breakfast quinoa recipe and you will know what I am talking about.
Quinoa is an ingredient, just like anything, as a cook, you tend to turn these ingredients into something yummy, regardless of what they are, that’s your job as a cook!

Whether you’re baking an apple pie or making homemade applesauce, the smell is addicting. It will drift from your kitchen into every corner of your house, filling the space with warmth and comfort. It’s one of my favorite things and I look forward to that smell every year.
Luckily for us, that luxurious smell isn’t just reserved for baking and dessert. Today I’m going to show you how to make a decadent (and surprisingly simple) quinoa breakfast recipe that combines apples and cinnamon to make an amazingly healthy and yet delicious seasonal treat!
Apples are high in fiber which helps regulate digestion, they’re detoxifying, they help boost your immune system AND they can even help lower your risk of some scary diseases like diabetes, pancreatic cancer, and heart disease.
As the saying goes, “An apple a day [really does] keeps the doctor away.”
So get them apples in your diet!
There are approximately 287 calories per serving
1/2 cup/90g quinoa
1 1/2/ 350g of cups water
2 large apples ( I had green in hand, but any you prefer would do )
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Maple syrup (optional)
1. Peel and core both apples. Chop them into bite-sized pieces.
2. Add quinoa, water, and apples to a saucepan. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce to simmer for 20 – 25 minutes.
The apples will be soft and the quinoa will have absorbed the water.
3. Stir in cinnamon and transfer mixture to two bowls.
4. Drizzle with maple syrup and sprinkle with additional cinnamon (if desired). And enjoy this Healthy Cinnamon Apple Breakfast Quinoa!
